LINE Is Not an Emulator is a project by Michael Vines that allows you to execute unmodified Linux applications on Windows. It uses the Cygwin DLL from Red Hat to implement Linux’s syscalls. Line development seems to have stopped around May 2001; this is an updated version that has a number of bugfixes and patches.

Requirements

Cygwin 1.3.17 or more recent. A Linux distro is also useful.
